Revenues reached $59.3 million, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $56.2 million by 5.60%. Revenues increased 50% year over year and 9% sequentially, reflecting strength across industrial and robotics applications.

GAAP gross margin was 43% compared with 42% a year earlier and 49% in the preceding quarter. The company reported a GAAP net loss of $14.2 million, while adjusted EBITDA loss improved to $3.4 million from $8.4 million a year earlier.

Ouster Sees REV8 Demand Supporting Production Expansion

Chief executive officer Angus Pacala emphasized strong customer adoption of REV8, the company's native-color lidar platform. Hundreds of customers have selected the product, with several thousand sensors in backlog.

Pacala said demand continues to strengthen as customers adopt REV8 for autonomous agriculture, defense, drones and infrastructure mapping. Partnerships involving Forterra, GUSS Automation and Seneca demonstrate its expanding applications.

During the call, Pacala outlined plans to expand annual lidar manufacturing capacity beyond 100,000 units by the end of 2027 through Benchmark. Management emphasized that this represents production capacity rather than committed shipment volumes.

OUST Benefits From Stereolabs Camera Momentum

Ouster shipped more than 27,000 sensors during the quarter, including more than 20,000 cameras and 7,000 lidar units. The industrial segment led revenues, followed by robotics.

Chief financial officer Kenneth Gianella highlighted Stereolabs' production expansion, with camera output more than doubling sequentially. Investments in manufacturing capacity supported increased shipments to robotics customers.

Pacala described growing demand across humanoid robots, mobile industrial systems and autonomous machines. He emphasized Ouster's strategy of offering multiple camera, lidar and AI compute configurations to accommodate differing customer requirements.

Ouster Expands Software and AI Compute Capabilities

Ouster expanded its AI compute portfolio with the ZED Box 2 series, incorporating NVIDIA Jetson platforms for edge processing and sensor fusion.

Pacala highlighted improvements to Gemini perception software, which can now integrate up to 100 lidar sensors on one server. The expanded capability supports large-scale installations tracking thousands of objects.

Management also discussed BlueCity deployments, including multimillion-dollar transportation infrastructure contracts and an expansion covering 100 additional intersections. These developments broaden Ouster's opportunities beyond mobile robotics.

OUST Addresses Margins and Capital Requirements

During analyst questioning, Oppenheimer examined sensor cost reductions and opportunities for gross margin expansion.

Pacala identified manufacturing scale and semiconductor innovation as important cost-reduction drivers. He reaffirmed the company's long-term gross margin framework of 35% to 40%.

Gianella emphasized investments in production capacity and operating leverage. Ouster ended September with approximately $421 million in cash and investments. He indicated that management does not expect additional capital requirements to achieve its operating objectives.

Ouster Projects Further Revenue Growth in Q4

Gianella guided fourth-quarter 2026 revenues to $61-$64 million, including approximately $3 million in royalties.

At the midpoint of guidance, management expects approximately 48% year-over-year revenue growth for 2026, excluding royalties. REV8 production is expected to increase through 2027.

The company also anticipates full-year operating expenses increasing 5% to 8% year over year, excluding specified one-time items. Management continues balancing capacity investments with its profitability objectives.

OUST Maintains Focus on Scaling Operations

Management's commentary emphasized executing manufacturing expansions while addressing demand across lidar, cameras and software.

Pacala and Gianella reiterated their focus on product development, customer adoption and operating efficiency. Production execution and expanding customer deployments remain central priorities.

Zacks Rank and Style Scores Signal a Mixed Outlook

OUST currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), indicating a neutral near-term outlook under the Zacks ranking framework. You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.
